Position Description:

 

We are seeking a skilled Operator to join our team. The Production Operative will work across a range of our departments , responsible for producing high-quality components through vacuum casting and RIM moulding. This role requires a detail-oriented, creative individual with strong problem-solving skills, capable of managing multiple projects. Key duties include operating machinery, using manual handling aids, performing quality inspections, and maintaining a clean work area. Some IT knowledge is needed for documentation. The position involves a set 39-hour shift, with potential for overtime and flexible hours. Full training will be provided.

 

 

Major Areas of Responsibilities:

 

· Manufacture and fettling of RIM cast mouldings, vacuum castings, and silicone castings.

· Cleaning, prepping, and inspecting mould tools and components.

· Using machinery and power tools for various tasks.

· Completing Quality documentation and adhering to work instructions and SOPs.

· Ensuring good standards of health, safety, and housekeeping in work areas.

· Supporting department stock take, supplies management, and promoting good teamwork.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Knowledge of RIM moulding, injection moulding, and fabrication (training provided).

· Strong problem-solving, planning, and time management skills.

· Ability to self-manage projects, work within a team, and meet deadlines.

· Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and customer requirements.

· Experience in operating processes related to plastics, paint, or chemicals is a plus.

· Effective communication skills and the ability to maintain a high standard of 5S in the work area.

· Willingness to work extra hours and thrive in a high-paced environment.

 

 

 

 

Physical Requirements:

 

· Ability to lift and move large tools and components, with team support and mechanical handling equipment available.

· Use of power and hand tools, including manual handling of heavy or difficult-to-manoeuvre parts.

· Standing for extended periods and operating machinery and power tools.

· Good hand skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are essential.

 

 

Work Environment

 

The Production Operative will be based in our RIM and Vacuum Casting Departments as well as our Modelshop.

 

 

Working Hours

 

The Production Operative will work a set 39-hour week. Overtime will be required when requested by the line manager
