Selective Laser Sintering

This powder bed fusion process utilising thermoplastic polymers is suitable for prototyping and printing functional parts.

SLS offers high levels of design freedom and high levels of accuracy, producing parts with good, consistent isotropic mechanical properties and excellent layer bonding. Printing is fully self-supporting, enabling complex geometries.

Accuracy: to ± 0.3%
Layer thickness: 0.15 mm
Wall thickness: 1 mm (to 0.5 mm for hinges)
Surface structure: SLS parts have obvious layering and a grainy texture. Powder residue usually evident. Can be blasted and polished or vibrofinished.
