Vacuum Casting
Vacuum casting is a fast, cost-effective method of producing low numbers of highly detailed, highly accurate polyurethane medical device prototype components and products.
Parts can be flexible or rigid, can come in a wide range of colours and materials, many of which are approved for medical contact applications, and can be over-moulded using rubbers and resins.
Vacuum cast parts work exceptionally well for validation and verification prototypes.
Reaction Injection Moulding
RIM is an excellent choice for producing larger plastic parts such as housing and casings for medical measuring devices and larger robotic cover components.
RIM parts are dimensionally stable, durable and chemically resistant. They are tough and yet can include intricate detail. RIM moulds are typically produced using highly accurate CNC processes; or alternatively a 3D printed pattern master is used to produce a silicon mould.
RIM is used in short runs or low volume production quantities.
Silicone Moulding
Liquid silicone rubber possesses excellent thermal, chemical and electrical resistance. Of further benefit is its biocompatibility, wearability and sterilisability, making it ideal for skin contact applications such as straps and prosthetic coverings.
The quick curing process ensures parts are rapidly dispatched for market focus research, and many prototypes are immediately re-created for end use.
