Reverse Engineering

Without a doubt, reverse engineering is one of the most efficient ways to create accurate CAD from an existing product.  Today’s laser-powered devices enable scanning of the most complex of geometries with the most intricate of details.

Reverse engineering is an essential tool in the product development cycle. Its uses range from inspections and digital analysis to CAD improvements to part recreation and development.

We can provide you with all these services if required as part of your product development package or as a service in its own right. We operate a portable FAROArm CMM scanner with a 2.7 m scan diameter. Our experienced design team, with expert knowledge in Delcam PowerSHAPE, SolidWorks Pro and other CAD packages are on hand to provide design support and technical advice.

CNC Materials

Stainless steel, tool steel & steel alloys

Offering chemical resistance, hardness of less than 50RC, temperature resistance above 500C, and a tensile strength of less than 500MPa.

Aluminium

For a higher volume production. Easy to machine, temperature resistance to 400C, tensile strength to 500MPa.

ABS

Common, lightweight thermoplastic material with very good mechanical properties, excellent impact resistance, good thermostability and good repeatability.

Polycarbonate

Exceptional impact resistance, thermal resistance and toughness. Can be coloured if required. Suitable for external applications and those for use in extreme environments.

Nylon

General purpose engineering thermoplastic with good mechanical properties and excellent chemical resistance.

PEEK

A high-performance engineering thermoplastic with outstanding thermostability, for use in extreme environments.

Polyurethane Foam

Dual hardness flexible foams, fire retardant graphite foams, fire retardant melamine foams, integral skin foam and rigid foams for a wide variety of applications across all market sectors.

EPP

Expanded polypropylene is a highly versatile closed-cell bead foam with a unique range of properties, including outstanding energy absorption, impact resistance, thermal insulation, buoyancy, water and chemical resistance, exceptionally high strength to weight ratio and 100% recyclability.

Modelboard

A range of high temperature epoxy tooling board for the creation of highly accurate models, patterns, masters, and production tools or moulds.
